Dear Delightex Team,
I’m writing to request the return or addition of 3D spatial audio support in CoSpaces Edu (now Delightex), especially through the CoBlocks interface.
In previous versions, it was possible to attach audio to objects and have it play directionally — meaning the sound source would pan and attenuate based on the user’s position and orientation in the scene. This was a powerful tool for creating immersive learning experiences, storytelling, simulations, and virtual environments.
With the removal of JavaScript/TypeScript access in most accounts, it is no longer possible to:
• Attach a sound to a specific object.
• Enable directional audio or simulate distance via audio falloff.
• Loop a sound in a spatially-aware manner.
These features are extremely valuable for:
• VR-based education
• Virtual museum tours
• Interactive 3D storytelling
• Simulating real-world environments with realistic audio cues
I would love to see:
• A CoBlock like play sound [file] from [object] looped that acts as a spatial audio source.
• Or a toggle to make a sound “3D” vs. “global.”
• Or even optional access to JavaScript again for advanced scripting.
Thank you for continuing to develop an amazing platform! Bringing back spatial sound would greatly enhance the creative and educational potential of Delightex.
Sincerely,
Michael Cohen
