About Viewing CoSpaces with Controller

Since I am working on a VR/non-XR project, I thought I may test non-XR part with my Xbox controller on my PC.

However, after I plugged it in, nothing happened. I tried to test it with my phone and it seems worked with “View in VR” with gyroscope controlling the turning of camera.

Therefore, I have a few questions here.
First, is joystick/controller controlling only supports mobile platform? If it is, then is there any quick method to suit controller into the ordinary CoSpaces controlling?
Second, can I turn camera without the use of gyroscope for VR mode and instead using joystick to finish it?

Devices I am using:
A PC with Edge and Google Chrome
A Samsung A52 5G,A70 (Phones I referred to)
A iPad generation 7 running iOS 18
A Xbox series S/X controller with latest firmware

Hi @heidi thanks for your post!

At this time we don’t support Xbox controllers.

Hope this helps!

I see. So is that a secret function that the left thumb stick enables the forward movement?

@heidi It wouldn’t be the first instance something like this has happened! Sometimes controllers and devices that we don’t officially support still offer some basic functionality, however it’s still not a controller that is compatible with CoSpaces Edu at this stage.

If that ever changes, we’ll definitely announce it and add it to our list of compatible devices
