3 years of using Delightex, this is my feature request list

Hello @Delightex_Team . I have been using CoSpaces (or delightex as you now call it) for over 3 years. And Ive been thinking for a long time on what you should add to delightex edu.

-Multiplayer (which has been added)

-BIGGER MAPS please. Reasoning: The small maps are very annoying when trying to create for eg an open world game, or a city. The current one work, however it just isnt big enough.

-The option to copy items, but still make them usable in coblocks, basically you can use ‘create copy of “item”’ but once you do that there is nothing else you can do to it, you can’t really move it around or use for collisions and it really bugs me.

-in multiplayer please add the option for 1st person (like in the normal singleplayer) because people can zoom out and see out of bounds of maps, find stuff they shouldnt, etc.

-the ability to port singleplayer worlds to multiplayer

-multiplayer is nice but, the code for it can get really janky, and trying to do 2 things for 2 different players is quite annoying

-an in game avatar system

-the ability to SAVE THE GAME. This would be so incredibly useful, this enables people to save their games and come back later, this unlocks opportunities for longer games that people dont have to beat in one sitting, i know this is probably a hard thing to do but it would be so incredibly useful and unlock so many new opportunities for games: tycoons, games with multiple long stages, etc. if I were to pick one thing to get added from this it would be this.

-the ability to invert the camera (moving the screen left moves the camera left instead of right as it is now)

-a dedicated coblocks/placeable items for GUI/UI/UX because currently you can strap text to the screen and it works but it doesn’t look as good and isnt as customisable for the camera

-pathfindable items, this is extremely hard to do in cospaces and it would he amazing if this was more streamlined and easier to understand and do, it also unlocks a LOT for horror games especially. Where when the enemies see you they chase you (not through walls)

-more accessibility to the game overall

-a actual desktop app for pc/laptop instead of just the browser

-the ability to use the browser version on mobile

-a review and comment section for games (instead of getting people to take a form while in game which is a little bit of a hassle) this can be very useful to find games that are actually good and see what people have to say about it rather than just a like button and a view counter.

-sort games by popularity/recommended for the user

-a profile section where people can read about you, your stats, what games you have made, what games you play, online/offline, etc. this should all be toggle able and customisable,

-Teachers should be able to work on a game together. Because you either need to pay for seats, or get them to sign into your account. Being able to invite people to a project and then customise what they can do (view only, build, code, etc)

-video/images from the game should be put underneath the description or play button so people can see more about the game

-continuing on saving players games, being able to use said data for things like leaderboards, badges, events, etc. while this can be done, people need to take a form, upload an image of what they have done, and then manually the developer has to put it on a leaderboard. The problem is that they can cheese it, and i think the only way they should be able to use that data is to play the game directly from the gallery.

-continuing even further on saving players data/games, the ability to choose from a save file, to go back to one, to share it, and also to remix the game and be able to continue from that shared file.

-a kind of social section if you want to call it that. Where people can upload posts, videos, images, links to games, chat in general, etc.

-continuing from the videos/images, comments reviews on games. Their should be just a general revamp of the game description when you go to share unlisted or to the gallery. There should be more options and customisability as ive said previously. It would make it feel more fleshed out and interesting.

Wow that was a lottttt of typing on my phone. I may add some more to this later, and i think this should be a big thread for people to add their thoughts as well, their recommendations, requests, stuff like that.

I truly hope @Delightex_Team will take at least some of them seriously and implement them at some point in the future. I really believe that most of these changes could make a big positive impact, and i would like to see what others think about this.

I thank you for reading this fully, and I hope you have a nice day.

Do you think at least some of these should be added?

I fully second this, but, BlackTip_codes_stuff, this is a lot of stuff to add but still a rather good list. As such it would probably take a good amount of time to implement all this but I still think getting all these features would be worth the wait. A desktop app would be a nice thing to have since right now if you got signed up for Delightex through HelloWorld CS (As I did) you don’t actually get a password so having a native desktop app where you only login once would be very helpful. This lists gets a :+1:

Thanks for all these great suggestions! It’s really helpful to hear what you’ve felt has been missing during your time using Delightex Edu. We’ve passed your feedback on to our dev team, and we really appreciate you taking the time to share it with us. :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi there! I’ve been using Delightex for a while now and consider myself quite familiar with it, so I wanted to share a bit of feedback.

I’d love to see more tutorials moving forward since the current video resources are pretty limited—it would be great to have more YouTube content like Scratch 3.0 and other platform has. Also, the TypeScript API is pretty tough to grasp. Without tutorials to go along with the code blocks, it’s really hard for beginners to figure out how to use them.

Additionally, it would be great if users could toggle certain in-game visual features—such as shadows or shaders (a recently added feature)—as this would significantly improve performance on lower-end PCs.
