Is it possible to make the masking effect partial, but selective?

Hello. Is it possible to make the masking effect selective? So that it doesn’t affect any specific objects located behind the masked one? Is it possible to make an object immune to masking, so that it remains visible at all times, even if it moves behind the masked object?
